Alloway Robert Burns Poets Path Tam o'Shanter

Next we see Tam mounted on his grey mare Meg as he,

"...skelpit on thro' dub and mire,

Despising wind, and rain, and fire;" 

Before the next weathervane we must cross the grass to see, flat on the ground, a carving in granite of a very modern depiction of the poem 'Death and Dr. Hornbook.'
